I think that the genre section should be condensed in to a single board, especially with this community being so small. It will help give it a more 'full' feeling, if there are 7 threads in one board, as opposed to 1 thread in every 7 boards.
You could also sticky a requirement to encase the genre in square brackets at the start of a post title, for example [FPS] Battlefield 4 - WIP
Having started a few forums before, one thing I can definitely say is - never be too specific in the boards you create. Try to be as vague as possible, and then establish some kind of rule or guideline to fill in the gaps.
Edit;
After going over the forum, I have to say the structure can get a little confusing. There are a few things that should have greater focus, and much of it is all too specific. I'll write up a suggested structure below
General - Announcements (Place to store rules, post news related to site. Admins and mods only allowed to post) - Off topic (General chitchat about anything) - Other Games (Talk about games that we haven't made, e.g Skyrim, Battlefield, etc)
Projects (possibly only visible to registered users?) - Feedback (Provide demos/tests to registered users to get feedback on project. Can also be text based things for feedback )(threads called "[GENRE] [TITLE] Play test [Date]" etc) - Showcase (Show screenshots, video, development blogs, etc. Anything that you're 'broadly providing' but don't necessarily need input on, just exposure) -
Resources - 2D (includes sprites, backgrounds, other 2d graphics) - 3D (Models etc) - Audio (audio) - Tutorials (All tutorials, tag posts with what tutorials are for, e.g [Modelling] - Polygon Extrusion or [C#] Classes tutorial)
Help - (tutorials could belong here, depends how you think of it) - Design (Get some help on design aspects) - Code (Get help with your code. Tag language eg [c++] how do I this?) - Other (If it doesn't fir in any of the other two, its still help you need, and its still related to game dev, post it here)
I'm not a 'pro' but I really feel like stressing the point, less boards = 'fuller' community. If there are less boards to post in, the posts will be more concentrated in their most appropriate board, therefore making everything 'fill up' a lot quicker than it would spread across (too)many boards.
